Qatar University (QU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Joaan Bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions in academic and practical fields. The signing ceremony took place at QU’s main campus.

The agreement aims to foster the exchange of expertise and information, joint organization of conferences, seminars, and training workshops, as well as the development of research and studies of mutual interest. This partnership seeks to promote integration and enhance performance efficiency in line with comprehensive quality standards.

On the occasion, Dr. Omar Al-Ansari, President of QU, affirmed that the MoU reflects the university’s commitment to enhancing institutional partnerships across various national sectors.

He noted that the cooperation will contribute to advancing the education, training, and research system between the two parties.

Brigadier General Dr. Rajeh Mohammed Aqeel Al Nabit, President of the Joaan Bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies, stated: “This memorandum is not merely an agreement but an extension of a successful and productive path of cooperation between both sides.

“This step continues what began in 2018, when the academy signed an agreement with the university to implement a Master’s program in defense studies, which helped prepare distinguished national cadres who combine academic knowledge with professional expertise in the defense field,” he added.

“Today, we build on that achievement to expand areas of cooperation and develop joint programs that meet the State’s strategic needs and strengthen institutional integration in research, innovation, and capacity building,” he noted.

This partnership embodies the commitment of both institutions to promoting institutional collaboration, knowledge exchange, and partnership in academic development, scientific research, and capacity building - contributing to national objectives in education and defense studies.
