Chief of Staff of Qatar’s Armed Forces HE Staff Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabit met Monday with US Task Force Spartan Deputy Commanding General Brigadier-General Joe Sharkey in Doha.

They discussed topics of common interest along with cooperation between the two sides and ways to boost them, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

During the meeting, Brigadier-General Sharkey awarded Commander of the Military Police Forces HE Staff Brigadier-General Rashid Mohammed Al Hajri the Order of the Marechaussee, Friend of the Regiment, in appreciation of his efforts to support and strengthen military relations between the two sides.

The meeting was attended by several senior officers from both sides.

In another development, Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah met last week with Iraqi Minister of Defence Thabet Muhammad Saeed Al Abbasi and his accompanying delegation in Doha.

The two sides discussed topics of common interest, bilateral relations and the ways to boost them.
