Saudi Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fahd Al-Ghufaili inaugurated on Wednesday in Riyadh the fourth International Military Medicine Conference, organized by the Ministry of Defense through the General Directorate of Military Medical Services under the theme “Critical Care: Collaboration, Compassion and Commitment - Advancing Military and Aerospace Medicine Innovation.”

Following the inauguration, Director General of the General Directorate of Military Medical Services Major General Dr. Yasser Mandourah delivered a speech affirming that the conference reflects the Ministry of Defense’s vision to advance the military medical system, enhance integration with national health sectors, and empower Saudi medical professionals to play a leading role in military and humanitarian medicine.

He indicated that the conference aims to enhance military medical readiness and improve the efficiency of field medicine, medical evacuation, and disaster management, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

He added that it aims to develop military health policies and protocols in line with international standards, while facilitating the exchange of global expertise and experiences in military medicine and advanced healthcare.

Major General Mandourah noted that the fourth edition of the conference features a comprehensive scientific program with over 20 specialized sessions and workshops, involving a distinguished group of local and international speakers from 32 countries.

Additionally, he said the event features two accompanying scientific conferences: the first Aerospace and Diving Medicine Conference and the 14th Annual Conference of the Saudi Critical Care Society (SCCS).

Held in Riyadh from 18-20 November 2025, the EURO-RIYADH 2025 International Annual Congress is set to be one of the most prestigious international gatherings in the field of acute and critical care medicine and Military Medicine, according to the Organizers.

For the first time, this event unites three landmark conferences on a single platform: the 4th Military Medicine Conference (MMC), the 1st Aerospace & Diving Medicine Conference, and the 14th Annual Conference of the Saudi Critical Care Society (SCCS).

The congress is organized in collaboration with the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) and the Saudi Critical Care Society (SCCS) and the newly founded Military Medicine Society (MMS).

With participation from 33+ allied nations, the congress brings together more than 200 senior military medical leaders, international experts, and specialists in critical care, field, aerospace, and diving medicine to promote strategic dialogue, scientific innovation, and global collaboration.

Complementing the main congress, an extensive portfolio of internationally recognized pre-conference courses were conducted throughout November 2025, ranging from 2 to 20 working days. These include flagship Military and Critical Medical Evacuation programs - FCCN, FCCS, FDM, FCCS in Limited Resources, and Transport of Critically Ill Patients - along with specialized offerings such as Basic Aviation Medicine (Malaysia), Space Medicine (P. Canadian), Basic Diving Medicine (Oman Navy), Naval Medicine (Pakistan), TCCC (NAEMT), and CBRNe Medicine (UK DMS).

Equally distinguished is the comprehensive critical care curriculum, featuring advanced adult-focused courses on Clinical Practice Guideline Development, Bronchoscopy for Adult Critically Ill Patients, ECMO, Neuro Life, Mechanical Ventilation, and Airway Management in Critically Ill Patients. For pediatric care, the program includes Pediatric Skills Training, Bronchoscopy for Pediatric Critically Ill Patients, Introduction to Critical Care Research, and Career Counseling sessions, designed to empower the next generation of healthcare leaders.
