Royal Protocol and Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), the national defense and security champion, a PIF company, have signed a cooperation memorandum aiming to exchange knowledge across several areas of mutual interest. Contributing to the development of national capabilities and enhancing operational efficiency, the agreement is part of ongoing efforts to foster integration between government entities and leading national companies.
The memorandum was signed by H.E Khalid bin Saleh Al Abbad, Chief of Royal Protocol, and Eng. Thamer AlMuhid, CEO of Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), at a signing ceremony attended by a number of senior officials representing both entities.
Under a comprehensive collaboration framework, joint projects will be undertaken with the Royal Protocol, leveraging the capabilities of SAMI Land and SAMI Advanced Electronics. Collaborative efforts include exchanging expertise in protocol management, organizing joint workshops, meetings and applying capabilities of both companies in land systems, advanced electronics, maintenance services, technical training, and after-sales support. Additionally, the framework encompasses training programs aimed at developing the human capabilities of Royal Protocol personnel.
Signing this memorandum embodies both entities’ commitment to Saudi Vision 2030 goals to localize technological and industrial capabilities and strengthen partnerships. Representing a significant step towards building an integrated operational environment that keeps pace with institutional and digital transformation, this collaboration will contribute to achieving excellence in official services and protocol management, thereby enhancing the Kingdom's standing in administration and protocol, and solidifying the culture of relying on advanced national solutions across various government sectors.
The Saudi Royal Court is known as the official residence and main executive office of the King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It serves as a high-level body connecting the King with the government and its institutions. Its headquarters is located in the capital, Riyadh, where high-ranking officials are received, and royal statements, orders, and news related to the King are issued.
The Royal Court is responsible for organizing royal protocols during the reception of Kings, Presidents, or official delegations visiting the Kingdom. It also drafts regulations and decrees and receives communications and telegrams from both within and outside the country. Additionally, the Tawasul Portal was established as an electronic service provided by the Royal Court, allowing citizens to submit their requests to the King. Typically, the Royal Court building is not open for visits, except on specific days when the King receives Princes, scholars, and a group of citizens.
