Chair of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti and Senior Minister of State for Defence and Manpower Zaqy Mohamad in Singapore held a meeting Sunday at the General Command.

Huneiti and Mohamad’s talks focused on strengthening military cooperation between the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) and the Singaporean Ministry of Defence, exploring avenues to enhance coordination in line with the strategic objectives of both nations.

The talks addressed mechanisms for implementing joint humanitarian initiatives, particularly those led by the JAF in collaboration with regional and international partners, aimed at supporting civilians affected by the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip.

“Both sides also discussed potential avenues for further collaboration between both armed forces to alleviate the humanitarian situation in Gaza,” the Ministry of Defence in Singapore said in a statement.

Mohamad praised Jordan’s role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in promoting regional security and stability and commended the humanitarian and relief efforts undertaken by JAF.

The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army and members of the Singaporean delegation, Petra news agency reported.

A total of 58 defence and military personnel were deployed in support of these operations.

Mr. Zaqy paid a working visit to Jordan from August 17 to 18 upon Jordan’s invitation for the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) to participate in airdrop operations to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
