Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Hunaiti, on Monday welcomed Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolphe Hélou and his accompanying delegation during an official visit to Amman.

A military reception was held in honor of the visiting Commander, who reviewed the guard of honor upon arrival.

During the meeting, attended by senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral military cooperation, particularly in the areas of training and capacity building.

They also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest and addressed ongoing security challenges in the region, Petra news agency reported.

Hunaiti and Hélou received several briefings outlining the scope of current bilateral cooperation and prospects for expanding and deepening it across various military domains. Discussions focused on enhancing coordination and sharing expertise to advance the defense interests of both nations.

Major General Hunaiti emphasized the strategic partnership between the Jordanian and Lebanese armed forces, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration to develop military capabilities and improve operational readiness.

For his part, General Hélou expressed appreciation for the professionalism and discipline of the Jordan Armed Forces, lauding their key role in promoting regional security and stability, as well as their contributions to humanitarian efforts in several fields.

At the end of the visit, the Lebanese Army Chief signed the guestbook reserved for dignitaries.

In another development, the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) took part in the “Air Tattoo” International Air Show, held at Fairford Air Base in the United Kingdom from July 18 to 20, with participation from numerous Air Forces around the world.

This engagement falls within the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army’s commitment to bolstering Jordan’s presence in global military aviation forums and reflects the advanced capabilities achieved by the RJAF both regionally and internationally.

Representing His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, Commander of the RJAF, Brigadier General Pilot Mohammad Fathi Hiasat visited the “Flying Scholarship for Disabled People” program and delivered a speech on behalf of His Highness. The ceremony, attended by the Chief of Staff of the British Royal Air Force, featured the awarding of flight wings.

The RJAF, recognized for its operational excellence, has previously won the Static Display Award three times consecutively for its C130 aircraft, affirming the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to modernize and strengthen its air defense sector.

Participation in the Air Tattoo exhibition offers a platform for the RJAF to engage in technical and knowledge exchange with leading global air forces and explore the latest aviation and air defense technologies. It also serves to advance military partnerships and enhance cooperation in joint defense efforts.

On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal, Jordan’s representative presented the Sword of King Hussein bin Talal as the honorary award of the exhibition to the Slovakian team “PC 9.”

The Air Tattoo is recognized as one of the world’s largest and most prominent military aviation events, attracting thousands of visitors, experts, and stakeholders in the aviation and defense sectors annually.
