Bahrain’s National Guard Commander Receives Pakistan Army Vice Chief of General Staff

General His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Commander of the National Guard, received Major General Ali Iqbal, Vice Chief of General Staff of the Pakistan Army (photo), on his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier Staff Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations and Training.

The National Guard Commander highlighted the longstanding and distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as well as the continued growth of bilateral cooperation across various domains, particularly in the military.

The meeting reviewed military cooperation and coordination between the National Guard and the Pakistan Army and discussed means to expand the exchange of expertise and training programmes to enhance capabilities, strengthen operational readiness, and advance the shared interests of both sides.

For his part, Major General Ali Iqbal commended the National Guard’s high level of professionalism and operational readiness, as well as the steady progress in military cooperation between the two countries, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

For his part, Lieutenant General Staff Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Bahrain’s Minister of Defence Affairs, received Tuesday Colonel Andrea Amadori, outgoing Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Italian Republic accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain residing Riyadh.

The Minister praised Colonel Amadori’s contributions during his tenure and wished him continued success in his future endeavours.

The Minister of Defence Affairs also received Tuesday Dr. Ayşe Hilal Sayan Koytak, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Kingdom of Bahrain. He highlighted the strong bilateral ties between Bahrain and Türkiye.

In another development, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, received Alastair Long, the outgoing Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Lieutenant-General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Police, attended the meeting.

The Minister highlighted the distinguished relations and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, particularly in policing. He underscored the importance of further strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise, noting the United Kingdom’s important role, alongside other countries, in supporting the foundations of regional and international security and stability.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador’s efforts and his valuable contribution to further strengthening the strategic partnership and the longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries.

The meeting also reviewed bilateral security cooperation programmes and their role in advancing joint efforts in support of the shared interests of the two countries. (BNA; Photo © BNA)
