Otokar, one of the leading companies of the Turkish automotive and defense industries, announced the financial results of 2025 H1. Otokar’s total turnover reached 19.8 billion TL (USD 487 million), with export revenue amounting to 302 million USD during the specified period. The company’s 6-month net loss decreased to 79 million TL (USD 1.94 million), with a net profit of 412 million TL (USD 10.14 million) in the second quarter.
Otokar, a Koç Group company, is driving strong domestic and global growth. Otokar achieved a 53% year-over-year increase in sales, with a total of 3,430 vehicles sold in the first half of 2025.
Evaluating Otokar's performance in the first half of the year, Aykut Özüner, Otokar’s General Manager said; “In the first six months, Otokar continued its success in both the defense industry and the commercial vehicle sector, in line with our growth target in global markets.”
“While focusing on delivering orders received from the defense industry recently, we have continued working for the new contracts. We have begun producing the 1,059 armored vehicles of Romania. In the commercial vehicle sector, we increased our domestic sales of buses, trucks, and pickups while expanding our vehicle fleet abroad, particularly in Europe,” he added.
Özüner also stated that the company is increasing its effectiveness on a global scale. “As Otokar, we have recently signed important agreements. Thanks to our subsidiary companies in France, Italy, Romania, the UAE, and Kazakhstan, we are experiencing consistent growth in various international markets. Otokar is a global player, not only for exporting products but also demonstrating local production and technology transfer capabilities. The Romania project, which we signed at the end of last year, is a reference of this. We will start armored vehicle production in Romania soon.”
Truck Sales up 49%
Atlas 9, which went on sale in 2025, had a significant positive impact on Otokar’s sales in the truck (7-15 tons) segment. Otokar sold 648 units, marking a 49% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the last quarter of 2024, Otokar made an impressive entry into the pick-up market in Türkiye with Foton Tunland vehicles, selling 905 units in this segment in the first six months of 2025.
Otokar is a global leader in bus manufacturing, with exports to more than 50 countries. In the first half of 2025, Otokar delivered buses to the Italian cities like Siena, Arezzo and Cagliari.
Turkish Armored Vehicles on Duty in Europe
Otokar is a solid, long-term supplier of NATO and the United Nations for land systems, with a wide range of military vehicles in active service more than 33 thousand in over 40 countries. The company’s well-known ARMA 6x6 armored vehicle was ordered by Estonia.
In the last quarter of 2024, Otokar signed Türkiye’s biggest single-item armored land systems export contract with Romania, and is currently producing vehicles to be delivered within the 2025. Local integration activities for Romanian COBRA II vehicles, manufactured in Türkiye, have commenced in Mediaş.
