His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan visited on Wednesday the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, in the United Kingdom.
During a tour of the exhibition, which connects leaders and innovators in the global aerospace, defence, and space industries, His Majesty viewed pavilions showcasing the latest advancements in the aviation and aerospace industries and technologies.
The tour included visits to the exhibits of international companies specialising in the development of electric propulsion systems for aircraft, drones and their systems, drone-based cargo services, AI-powered aircraft systems, electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) technology, the development of urban air mobility infrastructure, AI-powered drones, and the field of engineering design, Petra news agency reported.
More than 1,400 specialist companies from 41 countries are taking part in the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, which is one of the largest international exhibitions in the aviation and defence sectors.
In another development, Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti on Wednesday met with US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Thomas G. DiNanno, on the sidelines of his official visit to Washington, D.C.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Jordan and the US in security and defence fields, Petra reported.
They also reviewed regional and international developments, alongside joint efforts to support security and stability in the region.
Huneiti underscored the depth of the strategic partnership binding the Kingdom and the US, stressing the importance of continued coordination and consultation to address shared security challenges and enhance regional and global stability.
For his part, DiNanno praised the high level of Jordanian-US relations and the Kingdom’s pivotal role in supporting regional security and stability, reaffirming his country’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Jordan across various areas of mutual interest.
