ELT Group is participating in the 2026 edition of DIMDEX, the biennial maritime and defence technology exhibition taking place in Doha, Qatar, from 19 to 22 January.
For years, ELT has been actively collaborating with the country's Armed Forces with its Electronic Warfare systems, which are now used on the most advanced Navy and Air Force platforms.
This collaboration was sealed in 2024 with the signing of a contract for the construction of an advanced Electronic Warfare Centre that will provide the Qatari Armed Forces with additional and innovative operational capabilities. This agreement also marks ELT's transition to Prime Contractor and Lead System Integrator in the country, confirming the institutional trust placed in the Group and the strategic value of its partnership with the local Armed Forces.
In addition to the creation of the Electronic Warfare Centre, ELT Group systems are used on various Qatari military units, including Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets, NH90 helicopters and all the new naval units that the Navy has acquired in recent years from Fincantieri.
In line with its corporate strategy focused on internationalisation and strengthening local support, ELT Group opened a sales office in the country in 2017. Today, the Group is consolidating this commitment with the opening of an operational branch, which will work alongside the existing structure. The latter will enable the company to evolve its operational support model from remote support to a stable technical presence on site, thus strengthening its presence in the country and working increasingly closely with the Armed Forces.
At the ELT stand (H4-110B), visitors can find out more about the Group's commitment to the country and its technological offering, which includes field-proven solutions for all domains: Land, Air, Maritime, Underwater, Space and Cyber. Among the highlights at the stand will be models of the new KARMA on-the-move C-UAS and the advanced QUIRIS electronic countermeasure system.
ELT Group has a long tradition in the design and implementation of C-UAS solutions, having launched the Adrian (Anti-Drone Interception Acquisition Neutralisation) system, the first product in the C-UAS family, back in 2015. Today, in response to rapidly evolving operational scenarios, the system has undergone several developments. The most recent is KARMA (Kinetic Anti-dRone Mobile Asset), a technologically advanced, platform-agnostic, rapidly deployable C-UAS designed to detect, recognise and identify UAS, which operates in both mobile and fixed configurations. The most important innovation introduced by Karma is a large 360-degree stabilised infrared camera that allows it to be totally passive and therefore completely invisible on the battlefield from an electromagnetic point of view.
Quiris is a self-protection system designed and developed by ELT engineers to protect aircraft from infrared (IR) missiles, often referred to as “heat-seeking” missiles. These missiles track and attack aircraft by following the heat they produce, for example from their engines or exhaust. The system uses advanced technology, combining a quantum cascade laser (QCL) to confuse or “blind” these missiles and an intelligent laser to block them, ensuring the safety of aircraft and their crews. A wholly European asset, it operates quickly and automatically, protecting the crew and platform in a matter of seconds.
For more than 70 years, it has been a world leader in Electronic Defense systems. Thanks to innovative management of the electromagnetic spectrum, achieved through proprietary and integrated technologies, today the brand is an international Group with a multi-domain approach that also covers Cyber, Space and Biodefense.
By the experience gained through participation in major European Defense programs including Eurofighter Typhoon, FREMM, PPA today ELT Group is present in more than 30 countries in the World with more than 3,000 systems supplied, and also participates in the project for the sixth generation avionics platform GCAP (Global Combat Air Programme).
ELT Group is headquartered in Italy and has a presence in 14 countries located on 4 continents through sales offices and companies of strategic importance and local law in Germany and Saudi Arabia.
Also part of the ELT Group are CY4GATE, which specializes in Cyber security and Cyber Intelligence, E4Life, Italy’s first Biodefense company and Solynx Corporation, a US-based technology scouting company.
