Kuwait’s Acting Minister of Interior and Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah attended the graduation ceremony of a new batch of Kuwaiti Air Force pilots, marking a significant step in strengthening national capabilities and enhancing air readiness. A total of 28 pilots graduated during the ceremony.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Defense, Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the importance of developing and qualifying national talents, describing the new graduates as a valuable addition to Kuwait’s Air Force, which demands high levels of competence and advanced training.

He noted that this achievement is the result of intensive training and continuous efforts within a modern system designed by the ministry to prepare national cadres to meet increasing security challenges and keep pace with rapid advancements in aviation technologies, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

The Minister stressed the need to continue developing air defense systems to further enhance the capabilities of the armed forces and enable them to carry out their missions efficiently and professionally under various circumstances. He urged the graduates to remain committed to their duties, maintain discipline and continue learning and evolving within the modern training framework that adheres to the highest professional and technical standards.

Following the ceremony, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sabah toured Salem Al-Sabah Air Base and Ali Al-Salem Air Base. He inspected several operational and technical facilities, including the flight simulation wing, the training building and aircraft hangars. He was briefed on the operational capabilities of these facilities and their role in supporting Kuwait’s air defense system and received a detailed explanation of the nature of missions carried out by the aircraft. The Minister praised the high level of readiness and advanced technical proficiency he witnessed during the tour.

In another development, Undersecretary of the Kuwait National Guard (NG) Lt General Hashem Al-Rifai held talks with the Saudi Military Attaché to Kuwait, Brigadier General Farhan Al-Shathri, to explore ways of strengthening cooperation between the National Guard and military institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The National Guard said in a press statement that Lt General Al-Rifai received Brigadeir General Al-Shathri and conveyed the greetings of the National Guard leadership, represented by Chief of the National Guard Sheikh Mubarak Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Deputy Chief Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

The meeting underscored the deep-rooted and historic ties between the two brotherly nations and reviewed key topics of mutual concern. Discussions focused on enhancing joint coordination and cooperation in areas of shared interest between the National Guard and Saudi military bodies.
