Atech, an Embraer Group company, and Brazil’s Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), in collaboration with the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DCTA), signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement aimed at advancing research and development in the field of Electronic Warfare (EW).
The established partnership focuses on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for signal and threat classification, employing de-interleaving techniques to strengthen analysis and response capabilities in defense scenarios.
The agreement represents a strategic milestone for the company, which continues to stay at the forefront of technology and close to its market. The initiative is also aligned with Atech’s goal of fostering collaboration with Scientific, Technological, and Innovation Institutions (ICTs) of the Armed Forces.
The project paves the way for expanded research funding through development agencies, with the goal of advancing solutions in the field of Electronic Warfare.
“The partnership with ITA-DCTA marks an important step for Atech’s technological advancement in the field of Electronic Warfare. This initiative reinforces our commitment to leading innovation projects in Brazil, joining forces with world-class institutions such as ITA and DCTA to promote significant technological progress aligned with market needs,” said Giacomo Feres Staniscia, Atech’s Defense Business Director.
The Rector of ITA, Professor Dr. Antonio Guilherme de Arruda Lorenzi, emphasized that this is another significant partnership for national development.
“ITA has a long history of strategic activities involving various external stakeholders, such as industry and government representatives. Through this partnership, we aim to continue contributing - with education, research, innovation, and outreach—to the strengthening of Brazil’s capabilities in Electronic Warfare, further driving the country’s progress,” he stated.
Atech, an Embraer Group company, is recognized as a Brazilian “System House” focused on the Defense and Air Traffic Management (ATM) sectors. The company is driven by innovation and technology, with unique expertise in critical systems engineering, integration, and situational awareness technologies.
Following international standards, Atech is responsible for developing technological solutions for Brazil’s Aerospace Defense System (SIDABRA) and the Airspace Control System (SISCEAB), the latter recognized by ICAO as a global benchmark. Building on these systems, Atech has developed the ARKHE defense product family and the MAKRON airspace control product family, offering technology solutions for both civil and military organizations in Brazil and abroad, exporting technology and generating foreign revenue for the country.
