Sage (Safran group) and Kazakhstan Engineering, a Kazakh state-owned company, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation concerning tactical drone systems.
According to the agreement signed by Smagulov Bolat Sovetovich, President of Kazakhstan Engineering, and Jean-Lin Fournereaux, Chairman and CEO of Sage, the two companies intend to create a joint venture in Kazakhstan to produce, support, and market drone systems.

This planned joint venture will offer drone systems to different ministries and public companies in Kazakhstan to carry out defense, homeland security and other missions (ministries of defense and agriculture, emergency services, border patrols, national gas company, etc.).

Sage and Kazakhstan Engineering have started exclusive discussions to determine the procedures for collaboration and the establishment of a balanced joint venture.

The application of the agreement is subject to authorization by the French and Kazakh governments.
