The Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz received at his office Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management of the Syrian Arab Republic Raed Al-Saleh.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the two ministries, particularly in risk prevention and protection, the use of modern technologies, and the development of training programs. It also focused on the exchange of expertise among specialists in emergency and disaster management, as well as on several topics of mutual interest.
The Syrian Minister expressed his deep gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the humanitarian support provided to his country.
This came during his visit today to KSrelief’s headquarters in Riyadh. He noted that the projects delivered through the center to Syria are diverse across multiple sectors. He said the programs extend beyond humanitarian and relief support to include sustainable development initiatives that improve the quality of life.
He highlighted the voluntary medical cochlear implant and auditory rehabilitation project, which has enabled 1,500 children to regain their hearing, offering them a new opportunity in life, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
He added that these efforts reflect tangible positive impacts in Syria and contribute to the transition from emergency response to sustainability and development.
On Friday, the Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management of the Syrian Arab Republic Raed Al-Saleh visited the General Directorate of Civil Defense, the Civil Defense Institute, the Saudi search and rescue team, and the Unified Security Operations Center (911) in Riyadh Region.
During the visits, he was briefed on the Civil Defense's tasks, including protecting lives and public and private property, promoting preventive awareness, and overseeing facility safety.
He also reviewed systems enhanced with artificial intelligence for firefighting and rescue operations, as well as for detecting chemical and hazardous materials.
In addition, he was briefed on the Unified Security Operations Center (911) in Riyadh Region and its mechanism for receiving and handling reports around the clock in several languages.
