As part of the Kuwait Ministry of Interior’s commitment to developing the security education and training system and enhancing the use of scientific research in supporting security work, a cooperation protocol was signed on Wednesday morning, December 24, 2025, between the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Education and Training Affairs Sector, and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), at Nawaf Al-Ahmad Building in Subhan.
This move reflects the institutional approach towards integrating security work with the national research system, the Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
The signing took place in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Abdulwahab Ahmed Al-Wahib, the Head of the Education and Training Affairs Sector, Brigadier Ali Jassim Al-Wahib, and a number of security leaders, while the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences was represented by the Deputy Director General for Scientific Programs, Dr. Fahd Mohammed Al-Fadhli and in the presence of a number of the Foundation’s leaders.
Moreover, the joint cooperation stressed transforming security educational and training institutions into knowledge-producing environments that not only transfer expertise but also contribute to preparing specialized studies and research. Also, it developed analytical and research thinking skills among security personnel, thereby enhancing their professional readiness and ability to keep pace with rapid changes.
The protocol aims to support the building of research and training capacities, through the development of academic programs, the qualification of researchers, the encouragement of innovation, and linking the outputs of scientific research to the actual needs of the security field in order to achieve integration between the theoretical and applied aspects.
This cooperation embodies the belief of both sides in the importance of investing in the security element as the focus of development, through quality education, sustainable training, and directed scientific research that contributes to enhancing community security, supporting national trends towards sustainable development and building a knowledge-based economy.
