The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the International Conference on Nuclear and Radiological Emergencies 2025 (EPR2025) from December 1 to 4 in Riyadh, organized by the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency under the theme “Building the Future in an Evolving World.”
The conference aims to enhance international cooperation, facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practices, develop national capabilities in nuclear and radiological emergency preparedness and response, and address technical and regulatory challenges, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
This will be achieved by discussing advancements at national and international levels; addressing challenges and opportunities; sharing experiences; and evaluating current and future trends, innovative technologies and approaches and lessons from real-life events. Additionally, the Conference aims to identify priorities for improving preparedness and response to nuclear and radiological emergencies to ensure readiness in a rapidly evolving world.
EPR2025 will showcase the latest scientific developments, innovations, and solutions in detection and protection within this field. This initiative will contribute to strengthening the capabilities of member states, enhancing the sustainability of nuclear safety systems at both national and international levels, and identifying future priorities for developing emergency systems in response to rapidly evolving global circumstances.
