Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz visited the General Administration of the Coast Guard at Sabah Al-Ahmad Naval Base in the State of Kuwait Monday.
Upon arrival, Prince Abdulaziz was received by Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.
The Saudi Minister received a briefing from Director General of Kuwait Coast Guard Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Sabah, who outlined the administration’s missions, operational mechanisms, and the latest technical equipment and technologies in use.
Prince Abdulaziz was also briefed on the key tasks and achievements of the Kuwaiti Coast Guard, including advanced security systems, equipment, and capabilities deployed to protect territorial waters. Additionally, he reviewed the operations room and the command and control center responsible for managing field operations.
The meeting reviewed the historical ties and the continuous development they are witnessing in various domains, particularly the ongoing security cooperation between the ministries of interior in the two countries, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The meeting also reviewed several issues related to the exchange of information and expertise, cooperation in combating organised crime, strengthening the security training system, and developing human capacities, as well as joint work in employing the latest security technologies and systems. It also addressed coordination in border security to ensure its safety and enhance joint monitoring in a manner that contributes to safeguarding the security and stability of both countries.
Both Ministers commended the ongoing work within the Military and Security Coordination Committee, emanating from the Saudi-Kuwaiti Coordination Council, underscoring their keenness to strengthen the course of joint security cooperation in a manner that meets the aspirations of the leadership of the two countries.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud reviewed a presentation on the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior’s efforts to enhance security, combat crime, and adopt modern technological systems across its security departments.
At the end of the tour, Prince Abdulaziz praised the Kuwaiti Coast Guard’s progress in performance, technical systems, and operational capabilities, wishing them continued success and further advancement, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
In another development, Kuwait National Guard (KNG) on Monday signed a cooperation protocol with the General Command of the Turkish Gendarmerie Forces in the field of training, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing joint cooperation with military institutions in brotherly and friendly countries, the KNG said in a press statement.
The signing ceremony was attended by Acting Director of the Office of the Chief of the National Guard, Colonel Khaled Nouri, while the Turkish side was represented by the Interior Affairs Advisor at the Turkish Embassy in Kuwait, Colonel Dr. Youssef Bashool. The KNG noted that the protocol aligns with the National Guard’s 2030 Strategic Plan (Homeland Protection), particularly initiatives focused on upgrading the training and preparedness of recruits.
