Lockheed Martin announced the introduction of the PAC-3® Adapted Capability Effector (PAC-3 ACE™), a low-cost interceptor built to defeat a wide range of air and missile threats for less than half the cost of a PAC-3 MSE per unit.

PAC-3 ACE (photo) will give allied forces a rapidly fielded, complementary air defense effector option that can be deployed in record time. To achieve this, Lockheed Martin will collaborate with American and European industry partners and suppliers, enhancing the resilience of the U.S. defense industrial base worldwide.

Built on the proven PAC‑3 fire‑control system and fully linked to the Patriot weapon system and the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), PAC‑3 ACE speeds up development, testing and deployment far beyond traditional programs. It also ensures allied forces can field a common interceptor and bolster the PAC‑3 network at the same time.

MORFIUS™ X-Rotor Drone

Commercial swarms of hostile drones are fast becoming the biggest threat to allied forces on today’s battlefields. Enter MORFIUS™ X-Rotor - Lockheed Marti’s newly released “one‑to‑many” airborne High Power Microwave (HPM), counter‑drone system that can neutralize more than 50 enemy drones in a single flight.

Designed for field recovery and reuse, MORFIUS keeps a significantly low cost per kill, protecting defense budgets while maintaining relentless firepower. MORFIUS is sensor and command and control agnostic. Unlike other airborne counter-drone systems, MORFIUS does not require a unique sensor to command-guide to an engagement.

To move this breakthrough from the lab to the front line, Lockheed Martin is accelerating prototype production of MORFIUS and its HPM payload. The team is also planning the next series of flight tests, building on recent achievements in Arizona, California and Oklahoma, where it tested flight, intercept and lethality conditions.
