Otokar, Türkiye’s leader in land vehicle exports, is participating in World Defense Show (WDS) 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a selection of its wheeled and tracked land systems within a long-term engagement approach focused on operational relevance and in-country capability development.
During the exhibition, held from 8-12 February, Otokar is displaying its ARMA, TULPAR, and COBRA II platforms, and introducing the new URAL II for the first time. URAL II reflects an evolution of the platform, offering enhanced ballistic and mine protection developed in line with changing operational needs and the demands of complex and high-risk environments.
Otokar continues to expand its footprint in the global defense industry through a diversified portfolio of land platforms and systems. At WDS 2026 in Saudi Arabia, the company is presenting its wheeled and tracked land vehicles alongside turret systems, reflecting an integrated approach to vehicle design, mission adaptability, and lifecycle support, structured to address operational requirements and aligned with long-term industrial cooperation.
At WDS 2026, Otokar is exhibiting six armored military vehicles and turret systems configured for different operational roles. The Otokar stand includes ARMA 8x8 Wheeled Armored Vehicle with a 30 mm MIZRAK Turret, COBRA II Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle (COBRA II MRAP) with a 25 mm MIZRAK L Turret, the COBRA II & Reconnaissance Drone Vehicle, TULPAR Tracked Armored Vehicle with 120 mm HITFACT MkII Leonardo Turret, URAL II, and ARMA II 8x8 Mobile Repair and Recovery Vehicle.
Debuting at World Defense Show 2026, URAL II marks the latest development within Otokar’s tactical wheeled armored vehicle family, introducing an increased level of ballistic and mine protection while preserving the platform’s established mobility characteristics.
Designed in response to the operational requirements of internal security and paramilitary forces, URAL II prioritizes crew protection in higher-risk operating environments without compromising agility. The platform’s modular architecture allows configuration for different mission profiles, supporting flexible deployment across a range of security tasks.
Having identified Saudi Arabia as a strategic focal market within the Gulf Region for many years, Otokar’s armored military vehicles have been actively deployed across a range of operational missions in the region for nearly a quarter of a century. Saudi Arabia has been a key focus within Otokar’s long-term engagement in the Gulf Region, where sustained operational use of its platforms has supported a detailed understanding of local operational practices, user requirements, and in-service expectations, forming a foundation for future cooperation structured around long-term partnership and industrial alignment.
Commenting on the exhibition, Aykut Özüner, General Manager of Otokar, said: “Saudi Arabia has been a central reference point within Otokar’s long-standing engagement in the Gulf Region, where decades of operational use have contributed to a clear understanding of user requirements and in-service expectations. This sustained engagement has allowed Otokar to align its platforms with user operational practices, forming a practical basis for subsequent industrial participation and long-term cooperation.”
“Beyond vehicle delivery, Otokar’s approach is focused on contributing to broader defense capability development through industrial cooperation, technology transfer, and local production, structured to support sustainable in-country capacity building. World Defense Show 2026 provides a focused platform to deepen dialogue with Saudi stakeholders and to advance long-term cooperation aligned with the Kingdom’s defense and industrial priorities,” he added.
Commenting on Otokar’s approach in the region, Sedef Vehbi, Otokar Military Cluster Head, stated: “We maintain close and continuous engagement with current and prospective users in Saudi Arabia, supported by broader regional experience, allowing us to directly assess operational requirements.”
“Today, more than 33,000 Otokar military vehicles are in active service worldwide, reflecting the operational maturity of our platforms. World Defense Show provides an opportunity to engage with Saudi stakeholders on operational priorities while exploring structured industrial participation models and practical pathways toward localization, sustainment, and in-country capability development aligned with the Kingdom’s defense and industrial objectives,” she noted.
