Qatar Airways unveiled the Gulfstream G700 to mark one year to its delivery for Qatar Executive, the airline’s charter service.
On this occasion Gulfstream G650 drew the initials “QE” for Qatar Executive in Qatar skies. The flight followed a unique flight path to form the symbol above Qatar, which was displayed in real-time by flight tracking sites.
The G700 will be the latest addition to Qatar Executive’s state-of-the-art fleet of long-range and ultra-long-range aircraft, tweeted the Qatar Airways on its social media channel, local media reported.
Qatar Airways Group CEO HE Akbar Al Baker said: “As a launch customer, we are also proud to reaffirm our commitment to addressing climate change and other environmental impacts through the addition of the technologically advanced G700 to our fleet.”
“Today, we celebrate our strong ties with Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, and look forward to forging an even closer relationship as we continue receiving new aircrafts from them in the near future,” he added.
The G700 delivers the most spacious, innovative and flexible cabin in the industry, offering an extra-large galley with lounge or crew compartment, up to five living areas and a spacious master bedroom with en suite washroom. The aircraft will have a total of 20 panoramic windows.
Gulfstream introduced the G700 in October 2019 as the industry’s new flagship with Qatar Airways being the launch customer for the same. It boasts business aviation’s largest cabin and can fly farther, faster than any other competitor in the business-jet industry.
In October 2019, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation formally announced Qatar Airways as the launch customer for Gulfstream’s recently introduced flagship, the Gulfstream G700TM, for its charter service, Qatar Executive. The new aircraft brings an unprecedented combination of performance, technology and cabin size to Qatar Executive’s fleet.
Qatar Executive’s latest agreement with Gulfstream is for the purchase of 10 G700 aircraft in addition to their previously announced orders of additional all-new Gulfstream G500TM and high-performing G650ERTM aircraft.
Eleven Gulfstream aircraft are currently in service with Qatar Executive, including six G650ERs and five G500s. The executive charter service is the world’s largest commercial operator of the G650ER and the first commercial charter operator of the G500.
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, designs, develops, manufactures, markets, services and supports the world’s most technologically advanced business-jet aircraft. Gulfstream has produced more than 2,800 aircraft for customers around the world since 1958.
To meet the diverse transportation needs of the future, Gulfstream offers a comprehensive fleet of aircraft, comprising the Gulfstream G280TM, the Gulfstream G550TM, the Gulfstream G500TM, the Gulfstream G600TM, the Gulfstream G650TM, the Gulfstream G650ERTM and the Gulfstream G700TM.
