Kuwait Airways has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American University of Kuwait (AUK) to strengthen joint cooperation in academic, training, and professional fields. The agreement aims to develop programs that contribute to developing national competencies and align educational outputs with labor market requirements, reflecting both parties’ commitment to supporting human development, fostering innovation, and promoting knowledge exchange.
This memorandum comes within the framework of the two parties’ keenness to establish sustainable cooperation that achieves mutual benefit and enhances integration between academic institutions and the business sector, through launching quality initiatives and programs that contribute to developing national capabilities, providing applied educational and training opportunities, and preparing a generation of competencies capable of leading the future of various sectors.

Kuwait Airways Acting Chief Executive Officer, Captain Abdulwahab Ibrahim Al-Shatti emphasized that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding reflects Kuwait Airways’ commitment to expanding its partnerships with leading educational and academic institutions in the State of Kuwait. He noted that Kuwait Airways recognizes that investing in the human capital is the cornerstone of sustainable development and supporting the development process across various sectors.
Al-Shatti stated that this partnership represents a significant step toward establishing an integrated model that combines academic and applied aspects. It provides students with the opportunity to experience the real work environment and benefit from Kuwait Airways’ practical expertise, contributing to the development of a generation equipped to meet labor market requirements and future needs.
He added that the Memorandum of Understanding includes the implementation of several joint initiatives and programs, most notably organizing specialized lectures, seminars, and workshops, as well as hosting experts and specialists from both sides. The agreement also aims to enhance knowledge and experience exchange, enriching academic content and developing students’ professional skills.
Al-Shatti noted that the agreement also includes cooperation in implementing professional development programs for Kuwait Airways employees through the Center for Continuing Education (CCE) at the American University of Kuwait. The center will organize and coordinate training programs and specialized workshops, supporting the company’s efforts to enhance the capabilities of its national workforce and foster a culture of continuous learning and institutional development.

Al-Shatti explained that the MoU enables Kuwait Airways to participate in job fairs and professional events organized by the American University of Kuwait, strengthening direct communication with students and graduates, introduces them to career opportunities and professional paths available within the air transport sector, while contributing to attracting promising national talent.
