Upon the Saudi leadership directives, Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz held talks in Cairo on Sunday with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to discuss relations and security cooperation.

Prince Abdulaziz conveyed to Sisi the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and wished Egypt continued progress and prosperity.

Prince Abdulaziz had arrived in Cairo on Saturday on an official visit, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

He was received at Cairo International Airport by his Egyptian counterpart Major General Mahmoud Tawfik and Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh bin Eid Al-Hussaini.

The Saudi Minister of Interior also paid a visit to the Police Academy in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Prince Abdulaziz was received by Assistant Minister of Interior and Head of the Police Academy of the Arab Republic of Egypt Major General Hani Abu Al-Makarem.

During the visit, Prince Abdulaziz received a briefing on the Academy’s history and its role in training and preparing Police Officers. He also watched a documentary film about the Academy’s departments and training programs, toured its facilities, and observed a simulation exercise focused on maintaining security and ensuring public safety. The Prince was accompanied by his official delegation.

The Egyptian Police Academy is a high standard, scientific and security edifice, and one of the world’s oldest Police Academies. It is the first at the regional level to hold leadership and prestige at all levels, national, regional and international.

The Academy prepares, qualifies and trains many security personnel not only at the African, Asian and European levels, but also as the first educational institution in the region to award Master’s degrees and Doctorates in Police Science.

The Academy is a modern and integrated University that seeks to implement the world’s latest education and training systems.

The Police Academy was established in 1975, and its organizational construction, together with its chairmanship, includes five main delegates: the Police Faculty - the Graduate School - the College of Training and Development, as well as the Police Research Centre - the General Department of Security and Guard Dog Training.
