Egyptian, British Special Forces Conclude Joint Counter-Terrorism Training Exercise

The joint Egyptian-British training activities in the field of counter terrorism were launched last week, with the participation of the Egyptian Commandos and Paratroopers Forces and the British Special Forces. The training continued over several days in the combat training fields of the Command of the Commandos Forces in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The training activities began with the line-up and merging of forces and a display of weapons and equipment used for training purposes. It is planned to carry out a number of diverse training activities with the aim of unifying concepts, exchanging and gaining experience and honing the skills of the Special Forces participating from both sides.

This comes within the framework of the joint training plan for the Armed Forces with friendly and brotherly countries, the Egyptian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

In another development, Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, witnessed the discussion of the main research of the Command and Staff College, which discussed the combat readiness of the Armed Forces in light of the technological development of various means of conflict and modern combat doctrines.

Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the commanders of the main branches, and a number of Commanders and Officers of the Armed Forces were also present.

Staff Major General Ahmad Mahmoud Safi El-Din, Director of the Command and Staff College, expressed his thanks to the General Command of the Armed Forces for providing all means of support to develop military thought and improve preparation and scientific qualification program for college students to enable them to carry out future tasks in an optimal manner.

A group of elite strategic experts and researchers at the Command and Staff College participated in preparing the research. The research concluded with providing a number of proposals and recommendations that enhance the readiness and combat efficiency of formations and units of the Armed Forces.

At the end of the discussion, Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the attendees.
