Milipol Qatar 2016, the leading event dedicated to homeland security in the Middle East, has announced a stellar line up of industry figures that will headline this year’s seminar agenda when the event takes place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from 31 October to 02 November 2016.

This year’s agenda, which covers three key topics during the second and third day of the event, brings together a contingent of the local, regional and international security and defense experts who will discuss current trends, challenges and innovations in the sector.

“The past 12 months have witnessed a number of serious incidents that have really tested international security provisions. With the Middle East looking to attract a greater number of large-scale events and tournaments, the seminar agenda this year includes experts in the field who can share first-hand their experience and open the discussion for the region to learn from,” Muriel Kafantaris, Exhibition Director, Milipol Network said.

A half-day Crisis Management & Resilience seminar will open proceedings on 1 November, with a particular focus on response, resilience, continuity and security issues arising from terrorist attacks and large scale natural disasters. The morning will include a Keynote Address from French High Committee for Civil Defense, Executive Director, Christian Sommade, which will be followed by international experts sharing their analysis of the past events and insights on future trends and challenges facing the field of crisis management. Panelists and speakers include Lina Kolesnikova - Crisis Response Journal’s analyst, and Dr. Marwan Ibrahim - Director Corporate Resilience Enterprise Assurance Group Services and Dubai Airport’s, UAE.

Concluding the day will be a half-day seminar track focused on Safe/Smart Cities & Large Events Security Management. Covering an overview of the key threats cities are facing, international speakers will assess whether world cities are equipped to respond to new and more sophisticated attacks. Colonel Maxence Jouannet, Civil Protection Coordinator for the EURO UEFA 2016 at French Civil Defense, will provide a case study on the event before joining seminar members from ENGIE, THALES and Amsterdam Smart City to discuss ways technology can help enhance security and information flow, and meet citizen expectations for safety.
