The Flight Safety Foundation announced today that Richard Hill, Chief Operating Officer at Etihad Airways, will deliver the opening keynote at Flight Safety Foundation’s 67th annual International Air Safety Summit.

Hill will address an expected crowd of more than 300 at the Foundation’s premier safety event on the morning of November 11th.

The 67th annual IASS will be held at the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from 1-13 November 2014.

“With Etihad Airways’ standing as one of the major carriers headquartered in this vibrant and fast-growing region, Mr. Hill will provide our attendees with a valuable perspective on aviation operations and safety,” stated FSF President and CEO Jon Beatty.

Another new addition to the agenda is Abdullah Al-Sayed, President and Chief Executive Officer at NEXUS Flight Operations Services, who will give a keynote address on Wednesday morning to discuss the importance of Just Culture (enhancing the safety environment). “Mr. Al-Sayed is a well-regarded aviation professional who can speak to some of the most important safety issues facing this region,” Mr. Beatty added.

The IASS occurs each year in different cities around the world and features an agenda that addresses many of the major issues facing aviation, including aircraft tracking, conflict zone operations, approach and landing and go-arounds, data analysis and protection, turboprop operations and many other topics.

Flight Safety Foundation (www.flightsafety.org) is an independent, non-profit, international organization engaged in research, education, advocacy and publishing to improve aviation safety. The Foundation’s mission is to be the leading voice of safety for the global aerospace community.
