The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) marked its Annual Day at the military parade ground in Said Bin Sultan Naval Base Wednesday.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA).

The RNO day, which falls on 3 November every year, is marked to glorify the eternal memory when the RNO was honored to receive the banner from the late Sultan Qaboos Bin Said on 3 November 1990, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The ceremony included graduation of a new batch of recruits. Diverse programs reflecting the RNO’s personnel capability and competency were performed, thanks to the royal keenness and care of His Majesty the Sultan, the Supreme Commander.

Activities of the ceremony began by playing the Royal Anthem to the chief guest.

The chief guest inspected the front parade column and then pinned long service and good conduct medals on RNO personnel in appreciation of their sincere efforts in serving the country and His Majesty the Sultan.

Various military and musical shows were staged by the parade column that depicted the progress witnessed by the RNO under the reign of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.

After that, the participants at the parade chanted the RNO anthem and proclaimed thrice Long Live His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.

The ceremony was attended by Commanders of the Sultan Armed Forces (SAF), military and security units, members of the State Council and Shura Council, senior officers at SAF, military and security departments, Military Attachés at Embassies of the sisterly and friendly countries in Muscat, sheiks and dignitaries of the governorates of South and North Al Batinah and RNO personnel.

Earlier this week, the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO) celebrated its Annual Day, which falls on 1 November every year. The event was held under the patronage of Major General Salim Ali Al Hosni, RGO Commander.

The ceremony, which was held at the Parade Field of the RGO Command Monday, included diverse programs reflecting the development and modernization under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.

The ceremony included a film highlighting RGO history, its periods of development and the royal attention and generous care enjoyed by RGO from His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, as well as the qualitative leap witnessed by various RGO military, administrative and technical fields, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The RGO Commander (photo) then pinned RGO distinguished personnel with the special service medal in recognition of their faithfulness in serving the country and His Majesty the Supreme Commander.

The ceremony was attended by senior officers, officers and personnel at RGO.
