Oman Receives Chief of General Staff of British Army

Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al-Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defense Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman (photo), received in his office at Mu’askar Bait Al Falaj on Sunday General Sir Nicholas Carter, Chief of General Staff (CGS) of the British Army, within the framework of his visit to the Sultanate.

The meeting reviewed fields of the existing military cooperation between the Sultanate and the UK and means of enhancing them, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The meeting was attended by Lt. General Ahmed bin Harith al-Nabhani, Chief-of- Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), Hamish Cowell, UK Ambassador to the Sultanate and the British Military Attaché.

For his part, General Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office also received in his office in Muscat the visiting Chief of General Staff (CGS) of the British Army.

The meeting exchanged cordial conversations and reviewed the good historic relations binding the Sultanate and the UK.

The guest commended the strong relations binding the UK with the Sultanate. The meeting touched on several issues of common concern.

The meeting was attended by Lt. General Ahmed bin Harith al-Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and the British Ambassador to the Sultanate.

Furthermore, Lt. General Ahmed bin Harith al-Nabhani, Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) separately received in his office at Mu’askar Al Murtafa’ General Sir Nicholas Carter.

The two sides exchanged viewpoints and discussed several military matters of common concern.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier Saif bin Hamdan al-Busaidi, Director-General of Joint Military Intelligence and Defensive Security at COSAF.
