Saudi Arabia, Pakistan to Enhance Military Ties

Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Defense, received Tuesday Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani who was on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


Present during the meeting were Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid Bin Sultan and Commander Royal Land Forces General Khalid Bin Bandar Bin Abdul Aziz.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest were discussed and it was agreed to further enhance strategic brotherly relations between armies of both countries.

There was conformity of views that both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have a unique relationship which is long lasting and time tested.

General Kayani expressed his gratitude to the Saudi government and people for their exemplary support extended to Pakistan at all times.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintain and reinforce their relationship for peace and security in the region.

Detailed discussions were also held on various aspects of combat capabilities and professional skills and it was agreed to work hard for enhancing interaction between the two armed forces and combat capabilities.

It was also agreed to increase joint exercises between the two Armed Forces.

Ambassador of Pakistan Muhammed Naeem Khan and Defense Attache in Saudi Arabia Brigadier Hassan Jalil Shah were also present in the meeting.
