Bahrain’s National Guard Commander Meets Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Top Military Officials

HH General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, the National Guard Commander of Bahrain, arrived in Islamabad Monday on an official visit to Pakistan.

Upon arrival, he was welcomed by General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Pakistan’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSCC), Mohammed Ibrahim Mohammed, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and serval senior Pakistani officials.

On Wednesday, he met with Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He conveyed the congratulations and greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, to HE the Prime Minister on taking the constitutional oath.

The two sides discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations across various domains. They also reviewed the latest regional and international developments as well as topics of common interest, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

HH Shaikh Mohammed praised the level of cooperation and exchange of expertise between Bahrain and Pakistan, expressing keenness to further strengthen bilateral relations.

The Pakistani Prime Minister commended Bahrain's progress under the leadership of HM the King and praised the cooperation between the two countries, especially in international forums, for the interests of the two countries and the Islamic nation.

He requested His Highness to convey his greetings to His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, wishing HH Shaikh Mohammed a pleasant stay in Pakistan.

HH Shaikh Mohammed thanked HE the Prime Minister for the hospitality, wishing Pakistan and its people continued progress, prosperity, security, and stability.

Furthermore, the Commander of Bahrain’s National Guard met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Pakistan’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSCC), on the sidelines of his official visit to participate in the celebrations of Pakistan Day (photo).

Upon his arrival at the reception ceremony, the Commander was received by the Chairman and several senior Pakistani Military Commanders. The national anthem of both countries was played, and then the commander inspected the guards of honour lined up to salute him.

The Commander commended the advanced level of military cooperation and the role of the Pakistani army in supporting regional and international security and stability.

The Pakistani Chairman welcomed the Commander’s visit, which comes within the framework of developing military relations.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed topics of common interest, and reviewed existing cooperation, especially in the military field.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of His Highness’ official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to participate in the celebrations of Pakistan Day, which falls on March 23.

On Friday, the Commander of Bahrain’s National Guard met with Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, the Chief of Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, at the Command Headquarters in Islamabad.

Later, he met with Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Commander of the Pakistani Navy, at the Command Headquarters in Islamabad.

Both meetings discussed topics of common interest aimed at enhancing cooperation on all fronts, particularly in the military aspect.
