Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa received in Manama Sheikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and his daughter Sheikha Aisha bint Rashid Al Khalifa, marking her graduation from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom.

The Commander-in-Chief bestowed the Military Competency Medal on Sheikha Aisha in recognition of her being the first Bahraini young woman to graduate from the prestigious academy, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa lauded Sheikha Aisha’s dedicated efforts and graduation from a renowned world academy, wishing her further success.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Director of the BDF’s General Command’s Court, Major-General Hassan Saad, were present.

The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), commonly known simply as Sandhurst, is the British Army’s initial officer training center and is located in the town of Camberley, near the village of Sandhurst, Berkshire, about 55 kilometers (34 miles) southwest of London.

The Academy’s stated aim is to be “the national center of excellence for leadership”. All British Army officers, including late-entry officers who were previously Warrant Officers, as well as other men and women from overseas, are trained at Sandhurst. The Academy is the British Army equivalent of the Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth, Royal Air Force College Cranwell, and the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines.

Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Minister of Interior Lt-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa attended for his part the graduation ceremony of the 31st commandos course.

He was welcomed by Deputy Interior Minister Lt-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan and Interior Ministry Undersecretary Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa.

The Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Premier for their support to all sectors of the Ministry of Interior to enhance the efficiency of police performance.

Sheikh Rashid congratulated the graduates, highlighting the need to move forward to enhance readiness in dealing with various security challenges.
