Bahrain Targets 15m Passengers by 2013

The massive expansion of Bahrain International Airport will see more than 15 million passengers use the facility by 2013, from the current 10 million, said a top Civil Aviation Official.
The first phase of expansion will be completed in two years, Civil Aviation Affairs Under-Secretary Captain Abdulrahman Al Gaoud said on the sidelines of Bahrain Airport Services’ Graduation Ceremony.
Work on the project’s preliminary designs has been completed and engineering designs are now being drawn up, he said, and added that phase two aims to cope with future passenger growth, Akhbar Al Khaleej daily reported.
The Graduation Ceremony was held under the patronage of Deputy Premier Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa at Mövenpick Hotel, Muharraq.
