Commander of the Iranian Ground Force Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari announced that the country’s experts are working on a unique project to produce an advanced anti-armored missile launcher, Fars News Agency (FNA) reported.

“Today, a type of anti-armored missile launcher is being built which is considered as an exclusive project and can provide the Ground Force with unique capabilities in area of anti-armored (weapons),” General Heidari told reporters.

“This anti-armored system is a guided missile”, he explained, adding that some good news will be revealed about the project on Army Day (April 18).

His remarks came days after Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami underlined that his country has gained self-sufficiency in producing different types of arms and military equipment to defend itself against any foreign aggression.

“Today, we have reached many aspects of independence and we provide our defensive needs in all fields,” General Hatami said, addressing a recent forum in Tehran.

“Wherever we need to change or enhance our defense achievements, we are able to turn it into a new product and use it,” he added.

Iranian Defense Ministry in a ceremony last week unveiled a new home-made propulsion system for high-speed vessels with a rotating shaft and 1,800 seahorse power.

“The most important capability of this propulsion system is that it is equipped with automatic guiding system,” Iranian Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Qassem Taqizadeh said, addressing the ceremony.
