Thierry Kalanquin Joins DCNS as SVP Services

On 1 April 2010, Thierry Kalanquin took up his new position as Group Senior Vice President, Services and a member of the executive board.
The business activities conducted by the Services division include through-life support, upgrades and modernisations for front-line surface combatants and submarines operated by the French Navy, the Group’s prime customer in France. The Group provides similar services to several other client navies. DCNS also offers a range of services for the modernisation, operation and maintenance of military and civil ports and nuclear facilities while Défense Environnement Services, a joint venture with Veolia Environnement, offers comprehensive and innovative solutions in response to growing demand for services for defence bases and industrial plant.

Thierry Kalanquin, 47, joined the Valeo automotive equipment group in 2006, ending his career there as head of the ‘visibility systems’ division responsible for group-wide business in automotive lighting and signalling. As Vice President, Visibility Systems, Thierry was responsible for division-wide operations and strategy in all countries where Valeo operates. Prior to that, Thierry spent 18 years with leading automotive equipment manufacturer Möller. Between 1987 and 2005, he held managerial positions contributing to the international expansion of this family enterprise.
Thierry Kalanquin is a graduate of ESCP (École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris). He is married and has three children.
