Oman’s Defense Minister Meets Indian, South Korean Counterparts at DefExpo

Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al-Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defense Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman, took part in the 11th edition of DefExpo 2020 in response to an invitation by Rajnath Singh, Indian Defense Minister.

DefExpo is taking place from 5 to 9 February 2020 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh State, India.

Sayyid Badr toured the pavilions of the expo, which was opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He took note of the latest military technologies, systems and equipment produced by the international defense industry firms, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

During the event, Sayyid Badr met Indian Premier Modi and conveyed to him His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik’s wishes. In turn, Modi asked Sayyid Badr to convey his greetings of good health and happiness to Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, as well as his wishes of progress and prosperity to the Omani people.

Modi also expressed his heartfelt condolences to Sayyid Badr and the Omani people on the death of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Bin Taimour, praying to God to rest his soul in peace in Heavens.

Upon his arrival to India, Sayyid Badr was received by the Omani Ambassador to India, Sheikh Hamad bin Saif al-Rawahi, Military Attaché Brigadier Badr bin Said al-Farsi, and senior officials of the Indian Defense Ministry.

The Omani Minister Responsible for Defense Affairs met at the headquarters of the International Equipment Exhibition (DefExpo) with Rajnath Singh, Indian Minister of Defense (photo).

The meeting reviewed the good relations and discussed a number of matters of mutual interest, areas of existing military cooperation between the ministries of defense and ways of enhancing them in the common interest. Rajnath Singh, Minister of Defense praised the development of the existing military cooperation between the two countries, stressing India’s desire to strengthen it in the interest of the two friendly countries.

The meeting was attended from the Omani side by Sheikh Hamad bin Saif al-Rawahi, the Sultanate’s Ambassador to the friendly Republic of India, Brigadier Badr bin Said bin Rashid al-Farsi, Omani Military Attaché and a number of senior officers of the Sultan’s Armed Forces accompanying the Minister Responsible for Defense Affairs.  On the Indian side, it was attended by a number of military and civil officials at the Indian Ministry of Defense.

The Omani Minister Responsible for Defense Affairs also met at DefExpo India South Korea’s Minister of National Defense Jeong Kyeong-doo.

During the meeting, good relations were reviewed and a number of matters of common interest were discussed, as well as the fields of military cooperation between the two ministries of defense and ways of enhancing them in a way that serves the common interest of the two friendly countries.

The Korean Defense Minister praised the development of the existing military cooperation between the two countries, stressing his country’s desire to strengthen it in the interest of the two friendly countries.

The meeting was attended from the Omani side by Sheikh Hamad bin Saif al-Rawahi, Sultanate’s Ambassador to the friendly Republic of India, Brigadier Badr bin Said bin Rashid al-Farsi, Omani Military Attaché and a number of senior officers of the Sultan’s Armed Forces accompanying the Minister Responsible for Defense Affairs and, on the Korean side, by the delegation accompanying the Korean Minister of Defense.
