Governor of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) Engineer Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali (photo) headed the Authority’s delegation during its recent visit to the Republic of South Africa.
The delegation reviewed the most important developments in the field of military industries, as well as strengthening cooperation between the Authority and its counterpart, the Armaments Corporation of South Africa Armscor.
The Governor discussed a number of important topics between the two sides, after being briefed on the latest developments of future projects between local manufacturers and a number of South African companies, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
He stressed the importance of this visit, which aims to support, develop and enable the military industries sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The Governor of GAMI pointed out that the Authority is working to identify opportunities for cooperation with many countries in order to build sustainable capacity in partnership with local manufacturers.
He added that these serious steps will accelerate the process of building local capacities and raising their quality, in line with the Kingdom’s ambitions to enhance strategic independence by localizing this vital sector.
