Orbital ATK, a global leader in aerospace and defense technologies, is highlighting its innovative defense technologies that protect the warfighter and provide combat overmatch on today’s battlefield during the Association of the United States Army’s (AUSA) 2017 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C. taking place held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center October 9-11, 2017.

Orbital ATK capabilities on display span applications for land, air and sea platform integration. New for this year is the company’s entry into providing solutions to counter hostile drones including both electronic and kinetic attack technologies. Also, the company will show for the first time its 120mm Advanced Multi-Purpose cartridge for the Abrams main battle tank and advanced 30mm and 40mm ammunition types that include air-bursting and proximity-fuzed munitions for the company’s Bushmaster® Chain Guns® to include the XM813 (30/40mm) and XM914 (Light Weight 30mm).

The company is also displaying its vast small caliber ammunition production expertise in providing ammunition for the U.S. Armed Forces. Likewise, Orbital ATK’s counter mobility solutions are showcased. These networked, smart munitions provide safety to friendly forces and non-combatants through man in the loop activation while creating a highly effective capability to engage threats.

Orbital ATK’s precision weapons technologies also are highlighted including the Precision Guidance Kit for artillery, which is now entering its second production year, and the Hatchet, a miniature precision glide weapon that is easily integrated on all aircraft types, including unmanned aerial systems, to provide quick, scalable precision strike engagements.

The company’s specialty in providing innovative spacecraft buses tailored for national security applications are on display with its ESPAStar, GEOStar and LEOStar spacecraft buses. Attendees will also have the opportunity to see the Kestrel Eye, an electro-optical imagery nanosatellite that provides imagery for ground component warfighters.

Orbital ATK’s innovative advances for tactical missile propulsion and cutting-edge warhead technologies that create greater effectiveness for existing and next generation systems are represented on the exhibit with Lethality Enhanced Ordnance (LEO) and Insensitive Munitions (IM) warhead technologies as well as advanced propulsion technologies for tactical missiles.

Rounding out Orbital ATK’s technology displays are survivability solutions for fixed and rotary winged aircraft including flares, decoys and missile warning systems.
