The U.S. Army has awarded ITT Exelis two additional orders for image intensifier (I²) tubes and night vision goggles under the OMNI VIII contract.

On February 28, the U.S. Army increased the quantity of the original MX-11769 (I²) tube order that was awarded to Exelis last month, to include an additional 500 tubes for AN/PVS-14 night vision monocular devices.

Exelis also received an additional delivery order; a Foreign Military Sales order to provide 34 AN/PVS-7 and 14 AN/PVS-14 night vision goggles to an international customer. The U.S. Army’s Research, Development, Engineering Command Acquisition Center issued the order.

“ITT Exelis continues to provide the U.S. military and our international allies with advanced Generation 3 night vision technology. We are pleased that the Army has chosen Exelis based on our ability to deliver superior capability at affordable prices,” said Nick Bobay, Vice President and General Manager of ITT Exelis night vision business area.

Gen 3 night vision technology provides an unprecedented “own the night,” operational advantage to our service members; it is simply the most technically advanced night vision capability on the battlefield.
