His Majesty King Abdullah of Jordan attended Friday the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst’s 200th Sovereign’s Parade, held under the patronage of King Charles III of the United Kingdom.

According to a royal court statement, the parade, attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, marked the graduation of commissioned officers, Petra news agency reported.

The ceremony included presenting the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst with its new Colours and Sovereign’s Banner, as well slow time and quick time marches.

After the parade concluded, King Charles delivered remarks, noting the important role of Sandhurst in training a new generation of officers who will go on to serve their countries with dedication.

The ceremony marked the commissioning of 171 officer cadets as army officers, and included the distribution of awards to distinguished cadets.

King Abdullah, who graduated from Sandhurst in 1981, presented the academy’s Al Hussein Medal to the non-British cadet who showed the most significant improvement in performance during training.

On the sidelines of the parade, His Majesty held a meeting with King Charles III of the United Kingdom and Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, attended by Crown Prince Al Hussein.

Jordan’s Ambassador to the UK Manar Dabbas and a number of senior officers and officials from several countries who are prominent graduates of the Academy also attended the 200th Sovereign’s Parade.
