Iran, China, Russia Conduct 5-Day Naval Wargame North of Indian Ocean

The 2023 Combination Security Belt Wargame, including Iran, China and Russia naval forces, and observers from Kazakhstan and Pakistan began on Thursday night in the north of Indian Ocean.

The Spokesman of the Combination Wargame 2nd Read Admiral Mostafa Tajeddini announced the news in a press conference, and said: “In addition to the surface and naval forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy and the naval forces of the IRGC, naval forces of China and Russia, too, are present in this wargame.”

Tajeddini said that this is the 4th combination wargame of the Iranian, Chinese and Russian forces and in the future, too, we will have more such wargames, IRNA news agency reported.

He added that the 4th 2023 Combination Security Belt Wargame’s motto is ‘Together to Establish Peace and Security’ and it is launched at an area as vast as 17,000 square kilometers with peace and friendship message.

The 2nd Rear Admiral Tajeddini said that miscellaneous tactical practices, such as rescuing an ablaze warship, rescuing a stealth warship, shooting defined targets, night shots at air targets and other tactical and operational practices are designed for this wargame.

He added that the wargame’s objectives include strengthening security for naval international commerce, combat against naval piracy and terrorism, humanitarian moves, exchange of information in naval rescue operations and exchange of technical and tactical military operations.
