The National Space Science Agency (NSSA) of Bahrain held a meeting with the European Space Agency (ESA) and discussed joint cooperation.

NSSA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mohammed Al-Aseeri chaired the Bahraini side in the meeting, which highlighted NSSA activities and projects as well as ESA spatial program, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The meeting also focused on the “Galileo” navigation system project, the “Copernicus” project for Earth observation and the “Ignos” data correction system project, in addition to a number of future and research projects.

Dr. Aseeri stressed NSSA’s keenness on strengthening relations with the European Space Agency and with various space agencies to achieve mutual benefit that serves everyone.

He stressed the importance of exchanging expertise and knowledge in the space sector empower NSSA employees and provide them with more experiences and skills in the fields of space sciences.

The budget of the European Space Program for the next five years is estimated at about 15 billion euros. This massive program is expected to create more than 250,000 jobs related to the space field on the European continent alone.

The value of global investments in the space sector in 2021 exceeded more than 469 billion dollars. To reach a trillion dollars before the end of the current decade.
