The Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies (GCAS), the training arm of Abu Dhabi Airports based in Al Bateen Executive Airport, has been recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for delivering the most shared and validated TRAINAIR PLUS Standardized Training Packages (STPs) than any other ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS center worldwide.

The award was presented last month by Raymond Benjamin, ICAO Secretary General, during the ICAO Global Aviation Training & TRAINAIR PLUS Symposium which preceded the 5th ICAO TRAINAIR Plus Steering Committee (TPSC) meeting held in Dublin. The TPSC meeting was chaired by Dr. Othman Al Khoori, Chief Human Resources Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, to discuss the status of the program as well as its strategic direction worldwide.

Eng. Mohamed Mubarak Ali Al Mazrouei, CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “We in Abu Dhabi Airports are delighted to receive this prestigious award from ICAO which marks our commitment to excellence in aviation and airport training. Abu Dhabi is now a well-established global aviation hub, which continues to grow creating a need for well-trained aviation professionals. The Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies is proud to be doing its part by providing international standard aviation training in the UAE as well as globally.”

Dr. Othman Al Khoori, Chief Human Resources Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, commented: “GCAS is leading the way in providing and developing effective training solutions and globally recognized accreditations which will support Abu Dhabi Airports’ efforts in recruiting and retaining high quality, talented individuals who will continue to be the foundation of Abu Dhabi Airports future success.”

GCAS was established in 2009 by Abu Dhabi Airports, the operator of the five major airports in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in order to lead the development of the aviation industry in the UAE and the region by producing highly qualified aviation professionals.

GCAS is the world’s first International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) TRAINAIR PLUS training member; a fully certified and endorsed aviation training institution by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE and is accredited by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET).
