Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud inaugurated Wednesday evening Qatar airways A350 XWB Aircraft, as first airline in the world to receive and operate this type of aircraft.

This came during a ceremony organized by Qatar Airways, held in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, and also in the presence of a group of Ministers, and Ambassadors.

HE Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud toured inside A350 XWB Aircraft in order to identify the advantages of the first aircraft of its kind in the world, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said: “We are ready to commence operations with the A350 XWB and are delighted to introduce another level of service with our expanded fleet.”

“The engineering design of the A350 XWB is modern, technologically refined and spacious, and we are proud to welcome yet another fine airplane into the Qatar Airways' fleet,” he added.

The A350 XWB is an all-new family of wide-body aircraft offering 276-369 seats with its three passenger versions: A350-800, A350-900 and A350-1000. Scheduled to enter commercial service in early 2015 with global launch customer Qatar Airways, the A350 XWB will set a new standard of comfort and efficiency in its class, with 25 per cent lower fuel consumption compared to its current competitor.

It will also bring a new level of passenger comfort, with more personal space and 18-inch wide seats in economy. The A350 XWB has the flexibility to embrace growing passenger numbers.

The A350 XWB twin-engine jetliner is shaping the future of air travel by offering a complete family of new-generation aircraft that is best suited to the market’s requirements for size, range, revenue generation, passenger comfort and the environment.
