The Egyptian Air Force (EAF) awarded a contract to Raytheon at Farnborough Air Show to provide the integrated electronic warfare suite, ACES, for its fleet of F-16 aircraft.
The ACES system will provide self-protection capabilities to EAF's 20 block 52 F-16 aircraft ordered from Lockheed Martin, according to a report in Airforce News.
Raytheon will provide Lockheed with electronic warfare systems for the F-16 and spares and maintenance support as part of Egypt's Peace Vector VII programme.
ACES, an advanced countermeasures electronic system, will include a radar warning receiver, jammer, chaff-flare dispenser, towed decoy systems and integrated suites.
Raytheon's Electronic Warfare Systems Business General Manager Scott Jackson said ACES self-protection system would identify potential threats, pinpoint their locations and jam them.
