Dubai Airshow Concludes with US$ 6.3 Billion Deals

Tawazun Council, a government entity that works closely with the UAE Ministry of Defense, signed Friday 10 deals, worth AED 1.415 billion (US$387.6 million), with local and international companies on behalf of the Ministry of Defense on the fifth and final day of the Dubai Airshow 2023.

This brings the total value of the deals Tawazun Council signed on behalf of the Ministry of Defense to AED 23.06 billion (US$ 6.3 Billion) for 54 deals.

The announcement was made during a press conference held by Tawazun Council’s official Spokesmen Zayed Saeed Al Meraikhi and Mona Ahmed Al Jaber, Chief Corporate Communication Officer at Tawazun Council.

Zayed Saeed Al Meraikhi said the number of contracts signed by Tawazun Council on behalf of the Ministry of Defense with local companies reached 4 contracts, totaling AED 392 million (US$ 107.3 million) on the fifth day of Dubai Airshow 2023. The contract - worth AED 178 million (US$ 29.3 million), was awarded to Lahab Defence Systems, an Edge company, to procure Bombs Body. A contract worth AED 82 million (US$ 22.4 million) was signed with ADASI, an Edge company, to provide Upgrade Services on Al Saber UAV’s.

Other two announced deals with local companies included GAL company worth AED 93.9 million (US$ 25.7 million) to provide Technical Support on VIP Aircrafts, and a contract with Yahsat to provide Technical Support at a value of AED 38 million (US$ 10.4 million).

The international contracts announced Friday by Al Meraikhi, included 6 contracts at a total value of AED 1.023 billion (US$ 280 million)

The first contract was signed with the Swedish company SAAB to procure Radars, at a total value AED 145 million (US$ 39.7 million). An AED 262 million (71.8 million) contract awarded to the French company Thales to procure Radars.

A contract signed with the Italian company ELETTRONICA (ELT Group) to procure Ammunition for Aircraft for AED 240 million (US$ 65.7 million). Furthermore, two contracts were signed with the Italian company LEONARDO, the first one is to purchase VIP Helicopters for AED 259.5 million (US$ 71.1 million) and the second one for providing Technical Support on Radars worth AED 70 million (US$ 19.1 million).

A contract with the American company L3Harris to procure Microwave Stations for AED 46.7 million (US$ 12.7 million)
