L-3 Communications agreed to buy Insight Technology, a maker of night-vision and electro-optical equipment such as laser rangefinders, night-vision goggles and thermal imaging systems.

Italian helicopter firm AgustaWestland signed to create a joint venture with India's Tata Sons to build a final assembly line in India, the Italian firm announced Feb. 16. The deal envisages assembly work being undertaken on the line on AgustaWestland's AW119 helicopter for the worldwide market, with a production rate of 30 a year and the first aircraft potentially ready for delivery in 2011.

ICOP Digital, a US-based company engaged in advancing digital surveillance technology solutions, has signed a MoU with its Saudi partner to establish a JV company aimed at  expanding delivery of Homeland Security solutions in the Gulf region.
As per the agreement, ICOP will join hands with Developed Dimension Information Technology (DDIT) to establish a Saudi-based company that delivers world-class security products and services, with added emphasis on training and high-level local support.

Boeing signed a $34 million contract with Italian defense company Oto Melara to co-produce the Small Diameter Bomb Increment I (SDB I) weapon system for the Italian Air Force.
