Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi at his palace in Jeddah on Sunday evening, the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport, President al-Sisi was received by Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Advisor and Special Envoy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

The Egyptian President was also received by Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah Region; Saudi Ambassador to the Egypt, Kingdom's permanent representative to the Arab League and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps to Cairo Ambassador Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan; Egyptian Ambassador the Kingdom Afifi Abdel Wahab and a number of officials.

The two Heads of State discussed both regional and international issues, as well as the Gaza conflict. They also discussed ways to boost bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries.

During their meeting, the Saudi King presented Sisi with the King Abdulaziz Necklace, the highest and most prestigious medal in Saudi Arabia.

The meeting took place during Sisi's first official visit to the Kingdom.

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi was accompanied by an official delegation including Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and a number of officials.

In June, King Abdullah made a landmark visit to Egypt aimed at showing support for Sisi. During the visit, both leaders held a meeting inside the airplane carrying the Saudi leader. The visit was King Abdullah's first to Cairo since the 2011 ouster of President Hosni Mubarak.
