BAE Systems is showcasing its advanced swing-role fighter, Eurofighter Typhoon, alongside its latest products at the ongoing Dubai Airshow (17-21 November; Al Maktoum International, Dubai World Central in Jebel Ali).

“We’re very pleased to be participating in this year’s Dubai Airshow at its new home, Dubai World Central. BAE Systems is dedicated to supporting the UAE with all its current and future aerospace requirements, and the Airshow is the perfect arena to demonstrate our capabilities, show our support for the UAE aerospace sector, and meet with our industrial partners,” commented Ben Bridge, Managing Director, Middle East & Africa, BAE Systems.

BAE Systems is also showcasing its Hawk advanced jet trainer and the Royal Air Force’s elite acrobatic team, Red Arrows, is putting their Hawk jets through their paces with an aerobatic demonstration every day.

Helmets are an important part of a fighter pilot’s equipment and BAE Systems has 3 helmet technologies on display: a fully digital Head-Up Display (HUD; the Striker® helmet-mounted display system (HMDS) and Q-Sight®, a helmet-mounted display.

BAE Systems is offering upgrades for F-16 aircraft fleets around the world, following the company’s selection in 2012 to upgrade more than 130 F-16s for South Korea. BAE Systems is a viable provider of upgrades and systems integration, capable of delivering F-16 solutions tailored to any country's requirements.

In support of education and development of the UAE aerospace sector, BAE Systems is a Gold Sponsor of Futures Day on the last day of the Airshow and will be hosting activities dedicated to bringing private sector companies and educational institutes together to build the aerospace industry of the future.

“Futures Day is a key event at this year’s Airshow, and our commitment to developing the Emirati aerospace industry through supporting education is a key part of our presence at the 2013 Dubai Airshow,” said Ben Bridge.

”Creating a strong foundation to develop a sustainable UAE aerospace sector is aligned with the Governments’ 2030 Vision, and Futures Day is an important way to help achieve this,” he added.

As part of BAE Systems’ contribution, it welcomes parties of students from UAE schools, colleges, academies and universities to its stand, where they will hear about the available career paths in the defence and aerospace industries from BAE Systems’ apprentices.
