First responders and mission-critical radio users now have a feature-rich yet economical portable radio for P25 Phase 1 and Phase 2 operation.

The latest XG-25P portable radio from Harris Corporation delivers mission-critical feature set and interoperable communications for users operating on 700 and 800 MHz frequencies.

The Harris XG-25P portable radio's software-defined architecture allows for operation in multiple modes, including P25 Phase 1, P25 Phase 2, EDACS and OpenSky2.

The Harris XG-25P also delivers exceptional audio clarity because of its over-sized speaker and AMBE+2 Vocoder, and includes Bluetooth wireless connectivity and AES encryption.

“The XG-25P is the latest addition to our XG series of portable solutions and is the best value P25 Phase 2 radio available in 700/800 MHz frequencies. With its dependable core functionality, the XG-25P radio goes a step further and provides mission-critical users with a desirable and enhanced feature set,” said Greg Henderson, Director, Product Management, Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications.

The rugged, lightweight construction of the radio stands up to demanding operating environments without sacrificing portability or usability. The radio weighs less than 15 ounces, and its rugged design meets MIL-STD-810G standards for shock and vibration, dust, rain, solar radiation, low pressure and temperature extremes.

The XG-25P radio is compatible with the latest P25 system configurations, including conventional and trunking systems configured for voting or linear simulcast.

The portable also offers a substantial feature set consisting of group, individual and emergency call capabilities, packet data, Over-the-Air-Programming, and status messaging. In analog mode, the radio also supports traditional signaling protocols such as GE Star© and MDC1200.
