European aerospace group EADS won a 2.5 billion euros ($3.5 billion) contract to provide Saudi Arabia with radars and command posts along the border to deter attacks from sea, air or land, Le Point.fr said on Wednesday.

EADS, whose shares rose as much as 3.8 percent on the news,  had no immediate comment.

EADS had been in competition with France's Thales, BAE Systems and US group Raytheon
