Veolia Environnement and DCNS are combining their expertise in a joint venture, Défense Environnement Services. This joint-venture will be a leading operator in services to military ases.

Veolia Environnement, the global benchmark in environmental solutions, and DCNS, the European leader in the naval defense sector, today announced the reation of the joint-venture company Défense Environnement Services, which will mainly specialize in military base management. This joint-venture is owned 51% by Veolia Environnement and 49% by DCNS.

The creation of Défense Environnement Services comes as a response to the growing demand to manage state support services, such as the operation and maintenance of infrastructure at military bases, under the French government’s General Review of Public policies. Défense Environnement Services offers comprehensive, innovative solutions that cover a wide range of support services at military bases.

To provide these services, Défense Environnement Services will call on the complementary expertise of its two parent companies. DCNS specializes in particular in the monitoring and maintenance of sophisticated industrial infrastructure and in operating industrial facilities, as demonstrated by the services it provides for the Brest and Toulon naval bases. Veolia Environnement has expertise in industrial maintenance (utilities and energy production and distribution) and site management (corporate concierge services, cleaning, transportation, waste management, and so on).
